About
Few fado singers of her generation have brought as much range to the genre as Cuca Roseta. The Portuguese singer and composer has released seven studio albums, working with producers like Gustavo Santaolalla and Nelson Motta, and her 2015 record Riû pulled together names like Bryan Adams, Djavan, and Jorge Drexler to reinvent fado with cheerful rhythms and world music textures. Her 2020 album Meu, with every track written and composed by herself, was a first in fado. She has performed in over 30 countries, sang the Portuguese national anthem at the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix, and appeared in Carlos Saura's Goya Award winning film Fados early in her career. Beyond music, she has served as a judge on Got Talent Portugal and Rising Star, and in 2021 gave a series of concerts for healthcare workers during the COVID 19 pandemic.
