Damian Wilson has one of those careers that refuses to stay in one lane. The English singer and songwriter is probably best known in progressive rock circles for his long association with Threshold, whose debut album Wounded Land he sang on back in 1993, and with whom he recorded several more albums years later, including March Of Progress and For The Journey. At one point, Iron Maiden reportedly considered him as a replacement for Bruce Dickinson, which tells you something about the voice he brings to the table. Beyond Threshold, Wilson has kept himself remarkably busy. He fronted the prog metal band Headspace alongside Adam Wakeman, sang on multiple Ayreon and Star One albums with Arjen Lucassen, and toured with Rick Wakeman's English Rock Ensemble. He even spent a couple of years playing Jean Valjean in a touring production of Les Misérables. His solo catalogue stretches across five albums, and he has also done acoustic work with the Maiden uniteD collective, which reworks Iron Maiden tracks in stripped back arrangements.
