About
Also known as: Dead in Vegas
Death in Vegas started life as Dead Elvis, until an Irish label with the same name forced a rethink and the name became their debut album title instead. Richard Fearless has been the constant at the centre since 1994, steering a sound that swings between electronic dance music, rock and darker club textures. The Contino Sessions brought in guests like Iggy Pop, Bobby Gillespie and Dot Allison, and "Dirge" from that record ended up everywhere, from a Levi's ad to film trailers and TV episodes. It helped land them a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2000. Scorpio Rising followed in 2002 with Liam Gallagher on the title track, and later on Oasis hired the band to produce some tracks on Don't Believe the Truth. They launched their own label, Drone Records, for Satan's Circus in 2004, and Transmission in 2016 featured Sasha Grey on vocals, with its track "Consequences of Love" popping up in a Mission: Impossible film. Their seventh album, Death Mask, arrived in June 2025.
