About
Also known as: Romy Flores
DeathbyRomy, the project of Los Angeles singer songwriter Romy Flores, built her following the hard way before "Problems" changed everything. Released in 2019, that single exploded on TikTok and went on to rack up over 70 million streams on Spotify, making it her defining hit and the track that landed her a deal with Capitol Records. Her sound is deliberately hard to pin down: she describes it herself as the love child of pop, trap, industrial, and cinematic music, and her influences run from The Beatles and Björk to Bring Me the Horizon. Themes of anxiety, depression, and the tension between life and death run through her work, informed partly by Mexican traditions like Día de los Muertos. Since going independent through ONErpm in 2022, Flores has been on a prolific streak. She teamed up with Jazmin Bean on the moody "Hellhound" and with Palaye Royale on "PRAY TO ME", and her second full studio album Hollywood Forever arrived in April 2025. Recent activity suggests she is leaning further into rock and nu metal territory, which feels like a natural evolution for someone who has always refused to stay in one lane.
