About
DOES is a three piece rock band from Fukuoka that most people know through anime. Their song "Donten" opened Gintama and shot up to number three on the Oricon weekly chart in 2008, and the band kept coming back to that show over the years, including the 17th opening "KNOW KNOW KNOW". They also fronted Naruto: Shippuden with "Guren" and Space Brothers with "Yumemiru Sekai". The band formed in 2000, went on hiatus in 2005, then signed to Ki/oon Records in 2006 and built up a run of singles and albums, from NEWOLD to Innocence. "Bakuchi Dancer" did big numbers too, selling around 33,000 copies in its first week. After a break from 2016, they returned in 2020 and have kept putting out music, with "BackBeat" getting a video in 2022 and a live clip of "Donten" from a meat themed rock fest posted in 2025. Wataru Ujihara handles vocals and guitar, with Yasushi Akatsuka on bass and Keisaku Morita on drums.
