About
Formed in Säffle, Sweden in 1994 under the name Kerberos, Draconian spent years honing a sound that blends gothic metal and doom metal, often built around the interplay between harsh and clean vocals. Founders Anders Jacobsson and Johan Ericson have been the constant core through many lineup changes, with the band eventually signing to Napalm Records after their 2002 demo Dark Oceans We Cry drew solid attention. Since their 2003 debut Where Lovers Mourn, Draconian have put out seven studio albums, with Under a Godless Veil arriving in 2020. Vocalists Lisa Johansson and Heike Langhans have both taken turns handling the clean vocal parts over the years, giving the band a shifting but always atmospheric feel. In 2024 the band marked three decades together with a European tour of seventeen shows.
