Duo Verloop-Oostdam

About

Violinist Menno Verloop and pianist Daan Oostdam make up Duo Verloop Oostdam, a chamber duo combining two young Dutch musicians who both graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2023. Verloop completed his bachelor's degree there with the highest possible result, having previously studied violin under Ilya Grubert and trained at the Sweelinck Academie. He has performed as a soloist with Phion and on the stage of the Concertgebouw, and was a finalist at the Koninklijk Concertgebouw Concours. Alongside performing, he composes and engages in music theory. Oostdam completed a master's degree in classical piano and has built a reputation as both a performer and a teacher. His debut solo album Idylle, released on 7 Mountain Records, is devoted to the music of Nikolaj Medtner and drew wide coverage across Dutch press and radio. He has taken part in the Académie Musicale de Villecroze and has been teaching piano since 2019.
