Edsilia Rombley is one of the most versatile Dutch artists around, equally at home belting out a soulful ballad and hosting one of Europe's biggest television events. Her breakthrough came via the Soundmixshow in 1996, where she floored the judges with a cover of Oleta Adams' "I Just Had To Hear Your Voice", and she went on to win the European edition of that same contest the following year. Her 1998 Eurovision entry "Hemel en aarde" placed fourth in Birmingham, the best Dutch result in over two decades at the time. Over eight studio albums she has moved between R&B, nederpop and jazz, even hitting the road with pianist Michiel Borstlap for a tour blending those worlds together. She co hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam alongside Chantal Janzen, Jan Smit and Nikkie de Jager, a fitting role for someone who knows that stage as a competitor too. Recent releases include "Rustpunt" and a collaboration with Kenny B on "Goed Voor Mij", showing she keeps finding new angles on her sound.
