About
Also known as: Fallout Boy, Frosty & The Nightmare Making Machine, Short Story; Unhappy Ending, フォール・アウト・ボーイ
Fall Out Boy started as a pop punk side project in the Chicago suburbs and ended up with four number one albums on the Billboard 200, which is a run very few bands manage. Pete Wentz writes the lyrics, Patrick Stump handles most of the composing and singing, and together they built a sound that moved from scrappy punk roots to something far glossier without ever fully losing the edge. Their 2005 album From Under the Cork Tree turned them into genuine stars on the back of "Sugar, We're Goin Down" and "Dance, Dance", going double platinum and making Wentz a tabloid staple almost overnight. After a hiatus and some solo detours, they came back swinging with Save Rock and Roll in 2013, then followed it up with American Beauty/American Psycho, which gave them the top 10 hit "Centuries". Their seventh album Mania kept the streak alive at number one and even brought a headlining stadium show at Wrigley Field. Their eighth album, So Much (for) Stardust, arrived in early 2023, showing no signs of the band slowing down.
