About
The four members of Fibonacci Quartet met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, coming from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Montenegro respectively. That mix of backgrounds seems to suit them: at the Premio Paolo Borciani international string quartet competition in Italy in 2024, they became the only ensemble ever to take both the First Prize and the Audience Prize. Stages like the Wiener Musikverein, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Wigmore Hall and the Philharmonie de Paris have all featured them, as have the Edinburgh and Aldeburgh festivals. Their programming leans into the emotional weight of the string quartet repertoire, from the elegant precision of Mozart to the deeply felt melancholy of Tchaikovsky.
