About
Florian Zenker is a guitarist and composer from Germany who studied jazz guitar in The Hague and has since performed internationally with a wide range of ensembles. Alongside his work as a performer, he writes music for film, radio and television, and over the years he has built a very personal approach to the electric guitar, drawing on an extensive palette of effects to move between clear melodic lines, atmospheric layers and improvisation. His compositions sit at the crossroads of jazz, contemporary music and cinematic soundscapes, without committing to any single genre. In his duo with bandoneonist Santiago Cimadevilla, Zenker's effect laden electric guitar meets the raw acoustic character of the bandoneon, exploring the territory between composed structure and spontaneous invention.
