About
Frank Groothof is an actor best known to Dutch audiences from Sesamstraat, and he brings that storytelling energy to family concerts too. He doesn't just narrate. He tells, sings and dances his way through a story, which makes him a natural fit for children's music theatre. One of his projects is a staged telling of Peer Gynt, the tale of a carefree wanderer who dodges work and chases adventure, with Ibsen's play as the starting point. Groothof reworked the text together with Ries Moonen, turning it into a lively story for young listeners. Grieg's music is played live on the organ by Geerten van de Wetering, so the whole thing blends acting, song and classical music in one show.
