Gavin Reijnders is a Dutch cabaret performer who blends comedy with jazz in a way that is hard to pin down neatly. His show Jazzebelle, his second cabaret programme, is built around wit, self deprecating humour and what he calls old fashioned glamour, all wrapped in a musical style he describes as somewhere between Hannah Montana and Chet Baker. Rather than making grand statements, Reijnders leans into nuance, preferring a good time over a manifesto. He works alongside jazz composer Nadine Rypkema to turn theatre spaces into something closer to a comedy jazz bar. Reijnders previously won the 'Ik ga stuk!' award, which marks him as a recognised voice in the Dutch cabaret scene.
