Yentl en de Boer have spent a decade at the forefront of Dutch song writing, carving out a sound that sits somewhere between electronic pop and semi acoustic theatre music. The Amsterdam duo brings sharp, funny and genuinely moving lyrics to everything they make, always circling back to the everyday struggle of being human with warmth rather than cynicism. Their theatrical cabaret show Rekhalzen earned five star reviews and a successful return run, while an earlier show, Modderkruipers, won them the Poelifinario for best kleinkunst production of its season. On top of that, they have won the Annie M.G. Schmidt Prize for best theatre song twice, which says a lot about how seriously the Dutch arts world takes their craft.
