Graham Nash built his reputation as one of pop and rock's finest harmony architects, first as a co founder of the Hollies in the early 1960s and then as a key member of Crosby, Stills & Nash. His ear for a hooky melody showed up in some of CSN's most enduring songs, including "Our House", written about the Laurel Canyon home he shared with Joni Mitchell, "Teach Your Children", and "Marrakesh Express", the last two having been turned down by the Hollies before finding a far bigger stage. His bandmates nicknamed him "Willy" and considered him the glue holding the notoriously fragile CSNY alliance together. Nash has never been just a harmony singer, though. His solo work took on a political edge with anti Vietnam songs like "Military Madness" and "Chicago", and he co founded Musicians United for Safe Energy in 1979. Away from music he is a serious photography collector and a digital printing pioneer, inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once with the Hollies and once with Crosby, Stills & Nash.
