Grouplove built their reputation on the kind of infectious, high energy indie pop that refuses to sit still. Their 2011 single "Tongue Tied" is the track most people know them by, and for good reason: it cracked the Billboard Hot 100 top 50, hit number one on the US Alternative Chart, and eventually earned a quintuple platinum certification from the RIAA. Not bad for a band that basically formed at an artist commune in Crete. Their debut album Never Trust a Happy Song came out the same year, and their follow up Spreading Rumours arrived in 2013, showing a band willing to stretch their sound without losing the hooks. Grouplove are a five piece from Los Angeles, mixing dual lead vocals from Christian Zucconi and Hannah Hooper over churning guitars and keyboards. Their music has turned up in Apple and Coca Cola ads, on FIFA 12, and in an episode of Glee, which says something about how broadly their sound travels. As of 2024, they have six studio albums and two EPs under their belt.
