São Paulo producer Gui Boratto has been shaping the deeper, more melodic end of minimal techno and tech house since the mid 2000s, when his debut album Chromophobia earned album of the month from Mixmag and put him firmly on the map. Since then he has built out a discography of seven full length albums, with titles ranging from Take My Breath Away to Pentagram and Backstage, plus a steady run of EPs and singles that show his range across electronic genres. He runs his own label D.O.C., distributed through Kompakt, and used it to launch the Brazilian duo Elekfantz. Live, he brings together Ableton Live, a JazzMutant Lemur, a monome and an Akai APC40, and occasionally pulls in guest guitarists to add something organic to the electronic framework. Before all of this, he was part of Eurodance outfit Sect back in the 1990s.
