About
Also known as: Christiaan H. Temming, Hendrik Temmingh
Henk Temming is the composer and lyricist behind some of the most enduring songs in Dutch pop history, above all through his work with the Utrecht band Het Goede Doel. Classics like België, Gijzelaar and Vriendschap came out of his pen, and they still get sung along to decades later. His creative partnership with singer and co lyricist Henk Westbroek was at the heart of the band's sound, and the story of how those songs came together forms the basis of a theatre show Temming presents alongside host Martin Kuiper, exploring the making of the band's debut album in a format that sits somewhere between theatrical lecture and live documentary. Beyond the Het Goede Doel catalogue, Temming has been developing solo work that reflects on that period in Dutch pop and on his long collaboration with Westbroek. Lesser known album tracks get fresh context alongside the hits, and the whole thing moves fluidly between storytelling and live music.
