Henk Westbroek spent the 1980s as the vocalist of Het Goede Doel, one of the most beloved Dutch language pop acts of that decade. Alongside Henk Temming, the band racked up top ten hits including "België (Is er leven op Pluto... ?)" and "Vriendschap", and their debut album België was the best selling debut of 1982. The two Henks split in 1991, with Westbroek comparing the breakup to a marriage falling apart, though they reunited briefly in 2001 and again in 2008 for the album Gekkenwerk. As a solo act with his band Henk Westbroek & Consorten, he kept the hits coming, most notably "Zelfs je naam is mooi" in 1998, which spent 42 weeks in the Dutch Mega Top 100. Beyond performing, he has been a fixture on Dutch radio for decades, hosted the long running show Denk aan Henk on 3FM, and has written songs for artists like Herman van Veen and Ruth Jacott, whose Eurovision entry Vrede he co wrote. In 2020 he released Laatste Plaat, a fan funded album on vinyl and streaming platforms.
