About
Hiromi is a Japanese pianist and composer who moves fluidly across jazz, fusion, rock, classical and funk, bringing a kind of infectious, virtuosic joy to everything she plays. She was already sharing stages with Chick Corea at seventeen, and her career has since taken her to audiences around the world, including a performance at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympic Games. Along the way she picked up a Grammy as well. Her albums Sonicwonderland and Out There show a musician who has fully developed her own sound, one that weaves together piano, synthesizers and orchestral textures into something cinematic and immediate. Collaborating with the Metropole Orkest under conductor Miho Hazama, she pushes that vision further, letting jazz and symphonic weight build off each other.
