About
Houndmouth caught their big break the old fashioned way: playing SXSW in 2012 and impressing Rough Trade founder Geoff Travis enough to land a record deal on the spot. The New Albany, Indiana trio blends americana, folk rock, and alternative country into something that earned them spots at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival, and ACL, plus TV appearances on Letterman and Conan off the back of their 2013 debut, From the Hills Below the City. Garden and Gun summed it up well, calling it an effortless, well crafted mix of roots and rock. Their 2015 follow up, Little Neon Limelight, gave them their signature track "Sedona", which found a whole new audience well after its release. The band regrouped as a trio after vocalist Katie Toupin departed, putting out Golden Age in 2018 and then Good for You in 2021, a ten song record written and recorded during the pandemic inside a 19th century shotgun house in their hometown.
