Best known as the driving force behind Dutch band Krezip, Jacqueline Govaert spent a decade as the group's main songwriter, vocalist, and pianist before the band called it quits in 2009. Krezip had signed to Warner Music in 2000, played Pinkpop and Lowlands, and built a devoted following across multiple albums. Along the way, Govaert racked up guest spots with Armin van Buuren, Ayreon, and Hooverphonic's Alex Callier, who later helped her shape her solo debut. That debut, Good Life, landed at number three on the Dutch album charts in 2010, assembled with a crew of Belgian and Dutch indie heavyweights including Mario Goossens and Simon Casier. Her second solo record, Songs to Soothe, went one better and hit number one. Krezip eventually reunited for Pinkpop in 2019 and has kept going since, releasing Sweet High and Any Day Now. Govaert also co wrote the Senseo ad track Wherever I Go with Alain Clark, which crossed over into a proper single release.
