Jesper Lindell sounds like he was raised somewhere deep in Texas, but he actually comes from Sweden and is in his early thirties. His music sits squarely between americana and soul, pulling in threads of funk and country along the way, and the comparisons that get thrown around most often are Chris Stapleton and Nathaniel Rateliff. Lindell and The Brunnsvick Sounds joined forces in 2025, and the band recorded two full albums of soul covers in some of the most storied studios in American music: Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama and the Royal Studios in Memphis. That they can make a song as familiar as Rainy Night in Georgia feel completely their own says a lot about what this band is capable of.
