John Summit

About

Also known as: John Schuster, John Walter Schuster

Once an accountant at Ernst & Young, John Summit traded spreadsheets for decks and never looked back. The Chicago area native built his reputation on deep, driving tech house, and his 2020 single Deep End on Defected Records became the longest running Beatport number one that year. From there things snowballed fast: by the end of 2021 he was Beatport's top selling artist across all genres and Dancing Astronaut's Breakout Artist of the Year. His own label Experts Only, named as a nod to his love of skiing, has become a genuine force in the dance world, landing the SiriusXM Powertools Label of the Year for 2025. Collaborations with Hayla, particularly Where You Are and Shiver, both landed in the Billboard Top 10 and earned a shoutout from Barack Obama's year end favorites list. His debut album Comfort in Chaos dropped in 2024, debuting at number two on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and featured collabs with Sub Focus and Julia Church alongside those Hayla tracks.
