About
Joost Spijkers is a theatrical performer with a reputation built on several distinct strengths: a powerful singing voice, sharp dance skills, a distinctive stage presence, and a repertoire that refuses to follow conventional lines. He has won both the Poelifinario and the Annie M.G. Schmidt Prize, two recognitions that speak to the breadth of his work across music and theatre. His show ZIEL & ZALIG centres on themes of resurrection and renewal, with Spijkers singing and reflecting on a deep longing to take part in life fully and passionately. The tone mixes hope and humour, and his performances carry a warmth and generosity that feels genuinely personal rather than performed.
