About
Jukebox the Ghost built their sound around Ben Thornewill's piano driven hooks, Tommy Siegel's guitar work, and the kind of harmony stacked power pop that draws inevitable comparisons to acts like Ben Folds and Barenaked Ladies, both of whom the trio toured with. The Washington D.C. area trio has been at it since 2003, putting out six studio albums over nearly two decades, from the debut Let Live & Let Ghosts through to Cheers in 2022. Their third album Safe Travels marked a turning point, swapping fictional storytelling for lyrics rooted in real personal experience. They have a knack for expanding their reach in unexpected ways, whether covering Ace of Base for a charity compilation, writing a song for The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, or landing a slot on the Late Show with David Letterman back in 2010. Their annual HalloQueen shows, where they dress up and play Queen covers every Halloween, grew from a small novelty into full touring events. Their most recent album Cheers arrived in 2022, and a new release called Phantasmagorical Vol. 1 appeared in 2025.
