Juli are a German pop rock band from Gießen who turned a small town quintet into one of the biggest acts in early 2000s German pop. Their debut single "Perfekte Welle" had a rocky start on the charts before radio airplay pushed it all the way to number 2 in Germany, eventually going gold with over 160,000 copies sold. The debut album "Es ist Juli" followed in 2004 and went quadruple platinum, shifting more than a million copies and sitting in the German top 25 for an entire year. The band is fronted by singer Eva Briegel alongside guitarists Jonas Pfetzing and Simon Triebel, bassist Andreas Herde and drummer Marcel Römer. Their song "Geile Zeit" won the Bundesvision Song Contest 2005 representing Hesse, and they performed at the Berlin Live 8 concert that same year. Recent activity suggests they have kept releasing new music, with tracks including "Traurige Lieder" and "Gehen oder bleiben" dropping in 2023.
