About
Justin Taylor is a French musician of American origin who plays harpsichord, and his approach to the instrument is often described in reviews as light and sparkling rather than heavy or academic. That kind of touch suits the repertoire he gravitates toward: complex, architecturally rich keyboard music that rewards a player with both technical precision and a sense of wit. Bach's Goldberg Variations are a prime example, a work so densely constructed it has been compared to a Rubik's cube of ingenuity, and Taylor has performed it on harpsichord to considerable attention.
