K.Flay, the project of Kristine Meredith Flaherty, blends rap, rock and electropop into something that genuinely resists easy categorisation. Her 2017 album Every Where Is Some Where earned two Grammy nominations, one for Best Engineered Album and one for its single 'Blood in the Cut' for Best Rock Song, a track that also landed on the soundtrack for XXX: Return of Xander Cage and turned up in a Netflix Peaky Blinders episode. She released that record on Interscope through Dan Reynolds' Night Street Records imprint, having previously gone fully independent with her 2014 debut Life as a Dog, which cracked the top 15 on the Billboard Rap Albums chart after she crowd funded it to nearly double her target on PledgeMusic. Since then she has kept busy, collaborating with names like Tom Morello, Travis Barker, Mike Shinoda and Evanescence, and releasing two more albums, Inside Voices / Outside Voices in 2022 and Mono in 2023.
