About

Kenny Loggins earned his reputation as the "King of the Movie Soundtrack" by delivering one massive film hit after another across the 1980s, including an Academy Award nomination for "Footloose" in 1985. Before he was a solo force, though, he spent the early 1970s as half of Loggins and Messina, the accidental duo that grew out of a simple production deal with Jim Messina and wound up making seven albums together. The duo's vocal harmonies and country flavored rock built a loyal fanbase, especially on college campuses, before Loggins stepped out on his own. His run of soundtrack smashes is the stuff of genuine pop history: "Danger Zone", "Playing with the Boys", "Meet Me Half Way" and of course "Footloose" turned him into a constant presence in 1980s cinema. He has two Grammy Awards and a Daytime Emmy to his name, plus nominations for a Tony and a Golden Globe. More recently he has been playing live, with a Fallsview concert series bringing crowd favourites like "Celebrate Me Home" and "Danny's Song" back to the stage.
