About
Keri Lynn Wilson has built one of the most wide ranging conducting careers in classical music today, working across opera houses and symphony orchestras on virtually every continent. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2022 conducting Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, and her operatic resume spans venues from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Vienna State Opera to the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky. Her personal favourites lean toward the big Russian and German repertoire, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Mahler, and Bruckner among them, and she was nominated for an Opus Klassik Award in 2020 for her recording of Rossini's Sigismondo. In 2022 she founded the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and conducted the ensemble on tours across Europe and North America, including a performance at the BBC Proms that drew real attention. She has since led a special concert in Lviv performing Verdi's Requiem alongside Ukrainian composer Victoria Poleva's Bucha Lacrimosa, broadcast live across Ukraine. She also made history as the first female chief conductor of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra.
