About

Lebanon Hanover built their sound around a deceptively spare formula: light synths, deep bass, and lyrics that sit somewhere between melancholy and dread. The Swiss British duo, made up of Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline, draws comparisons to post punk and gothic rock heavyweights like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, and Bauhaus, though their take on that sound is distinctly minimal and cold. Their 2013 single "Gallowdance" became a club staple, and their fifth album Let Them Be Alien pushed into new territory by folding in elements of black metal, shoegaze, and neofolk. The duo has had a famously rocky relationship with the United States, being turned away at the border twice due to visa issues, but finally made it back for a run of American shows in 2023, their first in a decade. That same year they played Primavera Sound and Wave Gotik Treffen, and released the single "Better Than Going Under". Their seventh album, Asylum Lullabies, followed in 2025 on Fabrika Records.
