Leifur James makes the kind of electronic music that sits comfortably nowhere, which is exactly the point. The English producer and composer operates in an esoteric avant garde space, and his 2018 debut A Louder Silence on Night Time Stories turned heads at Resident Advisor, Pitchfork and Mixmag while picking up radio play from Gilles Peterson and Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6 Music. His second album Angel In Disguise followed in 2020, with DJ Mag comparing the single Ritual to Burial's nocturnal garage textures, and Future Music crowning it Album of the Month. A visual collaboration with Hungarian director Balázs Simon, built around the track Wurlitzer, earned nominations at both the UK and Berlin Music Video Awards. His third album Magic Seeds arrived in November 2024, with a fourth, Magic Seeds II, following in 2025.
