Going on your own? Open a plan and someone can come along.
How does this work?
- 1.You open a plan and say what you have in mind. One line is enough.
- 2.Anyone else going joins in one click. No request, no approval.
- 3.Inside the plan you agree where and when. You can leave whenever you want.
Meeting someone new
- Arrange to meet inside the venue or at the entrance — never at someone's home or another location.
- Anyone can read a plan. Do not put your address, phone number or bank details on it.
- Never pay a stranger up front for a ticket. Buy through the official seller.

De Kring is a members' club in Amsterdam for artists, scientists and art enthusiasts, with around 1900 members from the city's cultural and civic circles. The venue functions as a social hub featuring a bar, restaurant and Club Up lounge space, hosting jazz evenings with established and emerging Dutch musicians, cultural pitch events, philosophy nights, exhibitions and film screenings. Friday evenings feature live performances, DJs and dancing, while the space also serves as a daytime workspace for entrepreneurial and creative members.
About Benjamin Herman
Benjamin Herman plays alto saxophone, and the instrument is clearly more than just his tool of choice. He founded the European Alto Festival as a personal tribute to Piet Noordijk, a Dutch saxophonist who passed away in 2011, and has kept it running through multiple editions.
