Few rock bands have racked up a run quite like Linkin Park's. Formed in Agoura Hills, California, under the earlier name Xero, they hit the mainstream hard with their 2000 debut Hybrid Theory, a fusion of heavy metal and hip hop that went Diamond in the US and turned singles like "Crawling", "One Step Closer", and "In the End" into genuine crossover hits. The follow up Meteora kept that momentum going before the band began pushing into new territory, experimenting with electronics on A Thousand Suns, blending everything together on Living Things, going heavier on The Hunting Party, and then shifting into full pop mode on One More Light. After the death of vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017, the band went quiet for seven years. They came back in 2024 with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, releasing From Zero, an album that nods to their original sound while pulling in threads from across their whole catalog. Over 100 million records sold and two Grammys later, Linkin Park remain one of rock's defining acts of the past few decades.
