About
Lón is a trio of Icelandic musicians who have known each other for years, and they've settled on a sound that blends the windswept feel of the Nordic north with Americana. Think roots music and folk with grown up lyrics, delivered in a style that's entirely their own. The frontman is Valdimar Guðmundsson, who used to sing in the Icelandic rock band Valdimar and is widely rated as an exceptionally strong vocalist. He's joined by Ásgeir Aðalsteinsson and Ómar Guðjónsson, who both play guitar and add backing vocals. Put them together and you get something like Vikings meeting Yankees: an odd pairing on paper, but one that works.
