About
Lord Huron has always had one foot in the campfire and one in the cosmos. The Los Angeles band, built around singer and guitarist Ben Schneider, blends indie folk and rock with country, surf rock, and a cinematic sweep that calls to mind Neil Young and Fleet Foxes. Their debut Lonesome Dreams came out in 2012 accompanied by a run of western tinged music videos inspired by pulp fiction storytelling, and Strange Trails followed in 2015, debuting at number one on the Folk Albums chart. Their biggest cultural moment might be "The Night We Met", which went platinum after appearing in 13 Reasons Why and was later remixed with Phoebe Bridgers for the show's second season. The moodier, psych leaning Vide Noir arrived in 2018, Long Lost in 2021 to universal acclaim, and their fifth album The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1 landed in 2025. That latest record features a spoken word turn from Kristen Stewart, which tells you something about just how far Lord Huron's cinematic ambitions now reach.
