Lucy Woodward has one of those careers that quietly connects an enormous number of dots in popular music. The English American singer and songwriter has lent her voice to sessions and stages alongside Rod Stewart, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Chaka Khan, and Joe Cocker, among many others, and she co wrote the Stacie Orrico hit "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life", which earned her both a BMI Christian Music Award and a BMI Songwriter's Pop Award. Her own records show real range. Her 2003 Atlantic debut While You Can scored a Top 40 hit with "Dumb Girls", while her third album Hooked!, produced by Tony Visconti, drew comparisons to Dusty Springfield and the Brill Building sound, with Woodward citing Peggy Lee and Django Reinhardt as inspirations. She also sang with Snarky Puppy, toured in place of Pink Martini's China Forbes, and appeared in Italian Vogue as one of the year's top up and coming female recording artists.
