About
Madame Perdu are a Utrecht based group playing Nederlandstalige stadschansons, a sound that roams freely between swinging waltzes and full throttle ska with plenty of rough edges in between. Their lineup brings together a driving rhythm section, a saxophone, violin, and a sharp edged guitar, giving the songs a richly textured feel that is somehow both loose and tight at once. Lyrically they keep things close to the bone, writing about thinking, waiting, smoking, and loving. Semi acoustic in approach, their music carries the weight of lived experience without ever getting heavy handed about it.
