Few artists have ridden the reggaeton wave as far as Maluma. The Colombian singer born Juan Luis Londoño Arias broke through with his 2015 album Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy, a mix of reggaeton, pop and urban music that sent singles like "Borró Cassette" and "Sin Contrato" into the Billboard Hot Latin Songs top ten. His momentum only built from there: collaborations with Shakira on "Chantaje" and Madonna on "Medellín" hit number one on the Hot Latin Songs and Dance Club Songs charts respectively, and his single "Hawái" became the first ever number one on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. Maluma has sold more than 18 million records and worked alongside names like Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd and J Balvin. His videos for "Felices los 4" and "Corazón" both crossed a billion YouTube views, which says a lot about his reach beyond Latin America. He has also stepped in front of the camera as an actor, voicing a character in the Disney film Encanto and appearing in the romantic comedy Marry Me with Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.
