Margo Price plays country with a genuinely rough edge, mixing honky tonk, country rock, and streaks of psychedelia into what she calls "feral and free" music. Her debut album Midwest Farmer's Daughter, recorded in just three days at Sun Studio in Memphis and released on Third Man Records in 2016, landed her on Saturday Night Live and sent her to the top of the UK Country Albums Chart. She followed it up with All American Made in 2017, then That's How Rumors Get Started in 2020, and Strays in 2023. Her songwriting keeps returning to economic struggle, hard living, and everyday friendship, drawing comparisons to Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette while citing Tom Petty and Janis Joplin as her own touchstones. More recently she has been collaborating with Billy Strings and Tyler Childers, and she produced Jessi Colter's album Edge of Forever.
