About
Martin Turner is the bass player and lead vocalist who co founded Wishbone Ash back in 1969, and it was actually his idea to bring in two lead guitarists, a move that gave the band their signature twin guitar sound. He stayed through ten albums, including the celebrated Argus, and wrote the bulk of its lyrics. After parting ways with Wishbone Ash in 1980 and again in 1991, he kept the music alive through his own outfit, eventually settling on the name Martin Turner Ex Wishbone Ash after a UK court ruling in 2013 went in favour of Andy Powell. Since then Turner has kept busy, releasing Written in the Stars in 2015, which cracked the UK Independent Breakers chart at number 16, and the live set Beauty of Chaos in 2018, which landed at number 35 in the UK Rock and Metal Chart. He plays Wishbone Ash classics on the road to this day, backed by a band that includes guitarists Danny Willson and Misha Nikolic. He has also written an autobiography covering his full career in and around Wishbone Ash.
