About
Also known as: Matthew Alexander Frost
Max Frost blends blues rooted grooves with hip hop rhythms and vintage soul textures in a way that Rolling Stone once described as "heart felt soul crooning" sitting somewhere between blues, R&B, hip hop and electronic pop. The Austin, Texas native signed to Atlantic Records after his track "White Lies" hit number one on Hype Machine's most popular blog tracks chart, which is not a bad way to land a record deal. That song later landed in a Beats Electronics commercial and climbed to number 29 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart. His debut album Gold Rush arrived in 2018, after two well received EPs, Low High Low and Intoxication, built his fanbase. He opened for Twenty One Pilots on their Bandito Tour and for acts like Fitz and the Tantrums and Gary Clark Jr. His single "Good Morning" became the soundtrack to PepsiCo's Bubly water launch and popped up in Australian ads for Google and the rebrand of TV channel Network 10. His second album, Shelby Ave, followed in early 2025.
