Austrian producer Martin Schober, who records as Mefjus, has carved out a serious reputation in neurofunk and drum and bass with a sound built around dense, technical production. His 2014 debut album Emulation on Critical Music set the tone, with three months of dedicated sound design feeding into collaborations with Phace and Misanthrop. His second album Manifest followed in 2018 on Vision Recordings, growing out of what started as an EP across two years of work, and landed on PopMatters' list of the 25 Best Electronic Albums of that year. Beyond his solo output, Mefjus has built a strong network of collaborators. He co founded the drum and bass label Modus with fellow Austrian producers Camo & Krooked, and in 2022 the trio put out an official remix of The Prodigy's Breathe. A 2017 Fabriclive mix showcased 29 of his own tracks alongside work with Noisia and Kasra. His single Hear Me reached number 36 on the UK Singles Chart in 2021, and in 2024 he delivered a thirty minute mix for BBC Radio 1 leaning heavily on his own productions.
