About
Florian Harres, better known as Phace, has been shaping the harder end of drum and bass out of Hamburg since the mid 2000s, pulling influence from everyone from Kraftwerk and Photek to Miles Davis and The Prodigy. That range shows in his music: futuristic sound design sits alongside melodic depth, and he moves comfortably between drum and bass, techno, halftempo, and even film and videogame scoring. His debut album PSYCHO landed Album of the Month in Mixmag back in 2007, and his 2018 record BETWEEN pulled off the same trick in the same magazine eleven years later. He co owns the labels Neosignal and NËU, and has put out music on heavyweights like OWSLA, DEADBEATS, Mau5trap and Noisia's Vision. As one half of the audiovisual live project Neosignal with Misanthrop, he debuted a full Ableton based live show at London's Fabric in 2013. Five studio albums in, Phace remains one of the more restless and technically serious producers the genre has produced.
