About
Michael Bibi's breakout moment came in 2018 with "Hanging Tree", a tech house track built around a sample from The Hunger Games that went viral and pushed him into superstar DJ territory. Before that, he'd been grinding it out in London, throwing his own parties under the Solid Grooves name when the industry wasn't exactly opening doors. With fellow DJ PAWSA he turned that brand into a full record label in 2015, one that rode the tech house boom and later won Best Label at the DJ Mag Best of British awards in 2023. He's picked up a Best Tech House DJ award at the 2019 DJ Awards, landed a Mixmag cover mix in 2020 and delivered a two hour Essential Mix for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. After a cancer diagnosis in 2023 and a return to the decks in 2024, he hosted the One Life event at Finsbury Park for 45,000 people, raising around £120,000 for the Royal Marsden. His 2025 collaboration with Alexa Sunshine Rose, "Sungazing", was his first release since.
