About
Also known as: Milencolin, Millecolin, Millencollin
Named after a skateboard trick, Millencolin have been one of Sweden's most dependable punk exports since forming in Örebro back in 1992. Their early releases on Burning Heart Records leaned hard into skate punk and ska punk, but 2000's Pennybridge Pioneers pushed them toward a broader rock sound and kicked off their first major worldwide tour. That record remains a fan favourite, and the band even played it in full during South American and Canadian tours a decade later. Kingwood in 2005 brought them back to faster, crunchier punk territory and debuted at number two on the Swedish chart. Beyond the music, they run their own skatepark in Örebro and have hosted the Millencolin Open skateboard contest there, a nod to the scene that originally brought them together. In 2012 they threw a two day open air festival in Örebro to mark their twentieth anniversary as a band.
