Natalie Imbruglia (AU)

About

Also known as: Natalie Imbrulia, Natalie Jane Imbruglia, Natalie Umbruglia, Nathalie Imbruglia

Few debut singles have had the staying power of 'Torn', Natalie Imbruglia's 1997 cover of an Ednaswap track that topped the US Billboard Radio Songs Chart for eleven straight weeks and landed on Rolling Stone's list of the 50 Best Songs of the 1990s. The Sydney born singer and songwriter had already built a profile in Australia through the soap opera Neighbours before relocating to the UK and signing with RCA Records, but it was that debut single that turned her into a genuine international name. Her first album, Left of the Middle, sold seven million copies worldwide and earned multi platinum certifications in the US, the UK and Australia. The records that followed, White Lilies Island and Counting Down the Days, didn't match those commercial heights but both went gold in the UK. By 2021 she had six studio albums to her name and had shifted more than ten million album equivalent units globally. She has also appeared in films including Johnny English, modelled for brands like L'Oreal and Gap, and picked up accolades including eight ARIA Awards, two Brit Awards and three Grammy nominations.
