Founded in 1937 at the request of Dutch public broadcaster VARA, the Nederlands Kamerkoor has grown into one of the world's leading chamber choirs. Originally called Pro Musica, the ensemble spans a repertoire that runs from medieval polyphony all the way through to brand new commissions, and has released around 75 recordings over its history. Based in Utrecht since 2015 and currently led by chief conductor Peter Dijkstra, the choir has become increasingly adventurous under artistic director Tido Visser, teaming up with performance artist Marina Abramovic, singer songwriter Spinvis, and dance company Huang Yi Studio+. Their ambitious '150 Psalms' project brought all 150 Old Testament psalms to life through 150 different composers, performed alongside The Tallis Scholars and Det Norske Solistkor at venues from Lincoln Center in New York to the Adelaide Arts Festival.
