About
Ocobar is a Dutch blues rock trio built around the music of Eric Clapton. The three members are bassist and vocalist Bart Wijtman, his brother Rob Wijtman on drums and percussion, and guitarist Cok van Vuuren, who has been nominated multiple times as the best guitarist in the Netherlands. Together they perform full evening concert programmes dedicated to Clapton's catalogue, moving through everything from his early days with the Yardbirds and the raw blues of Cream all the way to his later era of radio hits and the famous MTV Unplugged session. Songs like Layla, Tears in Heaven, Wonderful Tonight and Sunshine of Your Love all feature. What sets Ocobar apart is their ability to shift between an intimate acoustic sound and a full electric setting, complete with virtuoso guitar work and extended solos. Bart handles most of the lead vocals, while all three members contribute to the singing. Their shows weave stories about Clapton's life and music in between the performances, making it closer to a theatrical experience than a standard tribute concert.
